Change your legal name

Your name in Worktrim is your legal name. Once your employer verifies it, a change needs an account manager's approval.

Steps

  1. Payroll, your W-2 and your Form I-9 use your name, and the W-2 name has to match your Social Security card. Update your card with the Social Security Administration first.
  2. Until your employer verifies it, you can correct your name yourself on My profile. It is verified when your Form I-9 is completed, when you are first paid through Worktrim, or when your employer marks it verified.
  3. After that, open My profile and choose Request a change. Type the name exactly as on your card and say why.
  4. An account manager checks it against your card and approves or declines it; you get an email either way. Until then your old name stays.
  5. Account managers: requests wait under People, Name changes. Every change is kept in the person's name history in Manage users.
